Timberlane snaps 80-game skid with victory over Keene

KEENE, N.H. — After four long years and 80 losses, the streak is finally over for Timberlane basketball.

The Owls jumped out to an 11-point lead in the third quarter, and surged to a 71-55 victory over Keene last night in their season finale, snapping an 80-game losing streak in New Hampshire dating back to the 2009-10 season.

Salem hit for 10 3-pointers in a 74-39 win over Timberlane. Kenny Calabrese (10 points) had all three of his in the first quarter. Jared Gott (4 3-pointers) and Tim Dodier shared game-scoring honors with 14 points each.

Timberlane led by 1 with about 2:30 left but the Owls, who were down two players (injury, foul out), saw Oyster River go on a late run to take the 57-49 win. Cam Donnelly, Matt Lynch and Eric Nelson each had nine points in defeat.
