Lawrence speedsters bring home silver

The always tough Lawrence sprint relay team strutted its stuff at the All-State Meet.

The team of Jose Adames, Rafael Brito, Aneurys Burgos and Jacob Toledo came out of a slower heat to clock a 1:32.50 and place second. Weymouth won in 1:31.78.

Battle of unbeatens

In a battle of unbeaten North Andover and Lowell boys track, Lowell prevailed 52-34.

Still, Joe Staudt won the 55 hurdles in a school record time of 7.8 and Wynn Bourassa won the high jump in a personal best of 6-1.

Pentucket's new boys indoor track team won its second meet of the season, 58-28 over Hamilton-Wenham, as Alex Demeule has a school-record 10:37.5 in the 2-mile and Cooper Carifio won the 55-meter dash and was on the winning 4 by 400 relay.

Look out, A Team

North Andover boy's B Team won the high jump relay at the MSTCA Div. II Relays yesterday while the Scarlet Knights A Team finished second.

Owen Jordan, Anthony Christian and Xavier Laguerre combined to jump 17-0 in victory. North Andover's A Team of Wynn Bourassa, Joe Staudt and Patrick Wolfgang combined to jump 16-7.25.

Junior Joe Staudt had firsts in both the 55 hurdles and high jump and teammate Patrick Wolfgang was third in both events to pace North Andover's boys to a 62-24 victory over Chelmsford.

Knights slay Raiders

Joseph Staudt won the 55 hurdles in 8.0 and tied for victory in the high jump with a 5-7 as North Andover topped Central Catholic 48 1/3-37-2/3. Joe McManus won the 2-mile and Chris Dalke took the 600 for the Scarlet Knights.
