North Andover's girls qualified for the tournament with a 66-54 victory over Methuen as Leah Chittick scored 20 points and had six assists, Megan Collins had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Mackenzie Mello chipped in with 10 rebounds.

Trailing Lowell Catholic13-9 after one quarter, Methuen's girls "flipped a switch" according to coach Karen McLaughlin, and outscored the hosts by a whopping 27-5 in the second quarter on their way to a 64-45 victory. Meghan Murphy had nine of her game-high 20 points in that period. 

Amanda Williams recorded her fourth straight double-double last night. Her 18 points and 12 rebounds led Central Catholic 66-46 over Methuen. 

Jessica Witten scored a game-high 19 points and Colleen Caveney added 16 points as Andover snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Methuen 64-39.

Senior guard Murphy Carroll poured in 19 points, including netting five 3-pointers, and Madison Carroll added 13 points to lead Methuen girls to its second victory of the season. The Rangers won 58-33. 

Surprising Lawrence (6-5) tripped Methuen 60-48. Aria Tate had 16 points and Karisha Jimenez 12. Madison Carroll had 13 for the Rangers.

Madison Carroll and Kelly Dorandi each netted 11 points and 10 Methuen players in all scored as the Rangers won 64-15 over Haverhill girls basketball for its first victory of the season.

Andover's girls outscored Methuen 20-0 in the first quarter on their way to their second straight win. 76-50. Colleen Caveney had a career-high 20 points to lead the way while freshman Alyssa Casey had 16 points and nine rebounds.
