Billy Brandano made seven big saves, but No. 3 North Reading fell to No. 2 Watertown in the Division 3 North semfinals. The Hornets received stellar defensive efforts from from Zach Herman, Ben Schille and Peter Walsh.

North Reading's boys soccer team scored a goal from Jake Intorcio with 10 minutes left and then relied on its defense to defeat Marblehead 1-0 in a Division 3 quarterfinal matchup. Peter Walsh, Ben Schille and Zach Herman were exceptional on defense and Bill Brandano made four saves for the Hornets (13-5-1), who will face No. 2-seed Watertown tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Chelmsford.

North Reading blanked Triton 2-0 on goals by Dan Coveney and senior defender Tim Russell. It was Russell's first varsity goal. After a 2-4 start, the Hornets went 10-1-1 to end the regular season.

Sophomore Sean Castro scored his first varsity goal and North Reading blanked Amesbury 3-0.

Chris Chee scored his fourth goal in four games and North Reading recorded its fourtgh straight shutout, defeating Lynnfield 3-0. The Hornets haven't given up a goal in 330 minutes ofn action.

Chris Chee netted the game's lone goal with about 14 minutes remaining as North Reading boys soccer beat Rockport. It was Chee's third goal in three games. 

Liam Rutherford was called up from the North Reading JV team and made his presence immediately known by making eight saves in a 0-0 tie with Georgetown. The Royals' Gus Savage had six saves.

Senior Chris Chee came off the bench to score his first two varsity goals as North Reading blanked manchester Essex in boys soccer, 2-0. Juniors Zach Herman and Greg Landry stood out on defense for the Hornets (3-4).
