Shutout for Hornets

 

 

North Reading's boys soccer team scored a goal from Jake Intorcio with 10 minutes left and then relied on its defense to defeat Marblehead 1-0 in a Division 3 quarterfinal matchup. Peter Walsh, Ben Schille and Zach Herman were exceptional on defense and Bill Brandano made four saves for the Hornets (13-5-1), who will face No. 2-seed Watertown tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Chelmsford.

North Reading blanked Triton 2-0 on goals by Dan Coveney and senior defender Tim Russell. It was Russell's first varsity goal. After a 2-4 start, the Hornets went 10-1-1 to end the regular season.
