Northern Essex opened up with a 78-65 win over New Hampshire Tech. Ryan Grant led the Knights with 24 points and 5 steals and 10 rebounds. Derek Andreoli backed him with 16 points and 8 rebounds while Peterson Morency added 10 assists and 9 steals.

Pentucket's soccer team, coming off a loss and a tie, got back on track with a 4-0 win over Newburyport. Kyle Sedler scored twice for the Sachems (10-3-3) and Cody Sedler had six saves.

Brendan Sullivan had two goals and an assist as Pentucket shut out Saugus 4-0 in boys soccer to improve to 9-2-2.

In a battle of top of the top boys soccer teams in the Cape Ann League, Pentucket rallied from a 1-0 halftime lead to defeat Rockport 2-1. Sean Keegan and Mike Salmonsen scored for the Sachems (8-2-1) and both Dylan Wright and Ryan Beaton stood out on defense.

Brendan Sullivan scored both goals for Pentucket in a 2-0 win over Manchester Essex. He now has seven goals and five assists on the season. Mike Salmonsen and Kyle Sedler had assists. Logan Sherwood and Cody Sedler combined on the shutout.

Logan Sherwood made three saves in the starter in net, then moved to the field and scored a goal to help Pentucket dispatch of Amesbury 6-0.

Pentucket's boys won the ALS Cup from Newburyport for the eight straight year, 2-1, as Connor Beaton and Sean Keegan scored and  Dylan Wright and Evan Burke played sound defense.
