Strong finish

Haverhill softball closed out its season with a 13-8 non-league win over Manchester-Essex. Sophomore Brett Johnson drove the offense with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. In a game-changing six-run fourth inning, Caitlyn McHugh smacked a two-run double and Theresa Ross added a two-run single.

Haverhill took advantage of 23 Pentucket walks en route to a 20-14 win. Theresa Ross scored four runs and Amanda Roy, Morgan Arsenault and Michaela Kane all scored three times for the Hillies.

Murphy, Johnson author walkoff win

Susan Murphy led off the seventh inning with a single, stole second and scored on a gap shot by Brett Johnson to give Haverhill a 2-1 walkoff victory over Tewksbury. Trailing 1-0 in the sixth, the Hillies tied the game when Amanda Roy singled and scored on a double by Caitlyn McHugh.
