In Division 3 competition at Wakefield, Lynnfield/North Reading sent Eric Kerr (113) and Tom Arsenault (220) to the semis while Pentucket advanced Tom Funk (120), Josh Wesolowski (132) and Jeff Funk (145). 

Eric Kerr won the title at 113 and grabbed his 100th career win in the process to highlight Lynnfield-North Reading's championship at the 11-team Division 3 North sectional. The top North Reading High athlete was Joe Morse, who took third at 106.

For the first time in program history, North Reading-Lynnfield wrestling posted a perfect regular season record, going 25-0.

Neither North Reading or Lynnfield ever had a perfect season when they were separate programs, too. 

In a battle of two of the top Division 3 wrestling teams in the state, North Reading/Lynnfield remained undefeated (22-0) by clipping Wayland (23-2), which suffered just its second loss of the season. North Reading won nearly all the close matches, none more important than Max Whyman's 5-3 decision at 120 and Tom Arseneault's clinching 4-3 win at 220.

North Reading won its first tournament title since 2010 and Tom and Jeff Funk both wion individual titles to boost the host Sachems to third at the Pentucket Tournament.

St. John's Prep's wrestling team improved to 8-1 with a 56-15 romp over Lowell. Haverhill's Corey Jean-jacques had  a first period pin for the Eagles.

Methuen's wrestling team placed fifth at the Wakefield Tournament and had three champions. Freshman Billy Wehring was first at 113, defeating returning New England placer Ben Defronzo along the way, while Christian Monserrat (126) and Mike Golio (220) were also champions. Monserrat pinned his way through the tourney and Golio catured hid first tournament title.
