For the second consecutive year, Merrimack field hockey senior goalkeeper Kerri Bergquist was named the league’s best netminder, earning the Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year Award as the league announced its year-end awards. A first-team All-American and First-Team All-Conference member last fall, Bergquist played a pivotal role toward the team’s success as the Warriors won their second straight regular season title this fall.  For her efforts, Joining Bergquist  on the NE-10 All-Conference first team were North Andover's Candace Waldie, senior forward April Daugherty and Jessica Otis.

Off and scoring

Alana Houlihan's first goal four minutes into action set the pace for North Andover in a runaway 6-1 soccer victory over Methuen. Houlihan finished with four goals before getting the rest of the game off two minutes into the second half. Katie Whipple and Emily Crabtree were key components in the Knights' strong defensive effort.

Saves the win


Methuen's girls soccer team slipped past Somerville 1-0 as goalie Courtney Zacharias made a brilliant save on a breakaway with one minute left to play. Alexis Hardy scored the lone goal for the Rangers.
