Andover boys tennis reached the Division 1 North semifinals for the second straight year but the Warriors fell to top seed Lexington, 5-0. 

Coach Mike Wartman said, "They were long points and long games. I was proud of how we played. We played them tougher than earlier in year. They can hold their heads high."

Arun Padykula battled back after losing his first No. 3 singles game to win his set 1-6, 6-4, 10-6 and help Andover boys tennis win 5-0 over Chelmsford in Division 1 quarterfinals.

For the second time this spring, Andover's Austin Bendetson defeated Central Catholic ace Chris Bunker, this time 6-4, 6-3, as the Warriors (16-3 overall) blanked the Raiders 5-0 to finish the regular season as undefeated Merrimack Valley Conference champions.

Andover's Varun Penamatsa battled Methuen's Joe Perrone to a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles as the Golden Warriors bested the Rangers 5-0.

Cam McCarthy and Sameer Sangal won a three-setter at No. 2 doubles and Andover swept North Andover 5-0.

Andover's Arun Padykula battled Haverhill's Khoa Nguyen for a 7-6 (11-9), 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles to help the Golden Warriors best the Hillies 5-0.

In a battle of two players undefeated in the league, Andover's Austin Bendetson outlasted Central Catholic's Chris Bunker 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 at No. 1 singles as the Golden Warriors toppled the Raiders 5-0.

With Andrej Samardzic winning a tough three-set battle and the doubles team of Sameer Sangal and Sicco Huizing prevailing in two challenging sets, Andover took a deceptive 4-1 win over Methuen. In his first varsity match, freshman Luis Martinez took home Methuen's lone point with a three-set victory.

Austin Bendetson came from behind to win 7-5, 6-4 at first singles to highlight Andover's 5-0 whitewashing of Marblehead.

Sam Mack outlasted Lawrence's Chen Chen for a 6-4, 8-6 win at second singles to highlight Andover's 5-0 victory.
