Pinkerton Astros Boys Indoor Track '11-'12

Astros soar to title

Behind gutsy performances from Grant Langevin and the 4x200 meter relay team, Pinkerton edged out Merrimack to take home the Division 1 state title for the first time since 1993.

In a meet at Dartmouth College that came down to that final relay, the Astros scored 68 points for the title, five more than Merrimack.

Smith doubles up

Emmitt Smith traveled to University of Southern Maine with his Pinkerton and took home a pair of victories in qualifying standard competition. Smith won in the 55 meter dash (6.70 seconds) and the long jump (20-9 1/2).

Swift Smith


Pinkerton's Emmitt Smith was second in both the 55 dash and 300 and won the long jump as the Astros won a 12-team meet at UNH. Tony Anzivino cruised to first in the 1,500 and sophomore Jason Rodgers was first in the 55 hurdles.

In yesterday's evening track session at UNH, Pinkerton got the better of Londonderry for most of the meet. Astro athletes finished in front of their Lancer counterparts in eight of the night's 11 events.
