N.H. Division 1 Quarterfinals

Katie Careia scored with 1:32 left to give Merrimack a 2-1 win over Salem in the Division 1 quarterfinals. Salem is hoping for big things in the future as 39 of the 44 players in the program are freshman and sophomores including freshman Kiley Keenan, who scored yesterday. Sophomore twins Erika and Danielle Smith played stellar two-way games.

Merrimack 2, Londonderry 1

Londonderry was halfway towards an impressive upset but Merrimack rebounded with two second-half goals and a 2-1 victory. Julie Hamilton and Sarah Ford turned in outstanding efforts on defense for the Lancers, and Ford set up Londonderry's goal with her long feed to Jess Fleet near the net.

Astros in OT

 

Pinkerton's field hockey team won a battle of unbeatens, nipping Merrimack in overtime, 2-1. Jordyn Hamilton made a nice pass to Linnea Testa, who went in alone to score with 6:14 left in OT. Julie Saltamartini also scored for the Astros (5-0), who scored the first goals all year off Merrimack (3-1).
