North Andover baseball won its 13th straight with a 10-0 victory over Wilmington. Mike Weisman hurled six innings, giving up just one run and striking out 11 batters.

McNamara's gem

John McNamara fired a complete-game four-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks as Pentucket shut out Wilmington, 6-0. Left fielder Jon Simard preserved the shutout with a fine catch with two on in the sixth. Chris Eiserman had three hits and three RBIs.

So close

North Reading was just one more key hit away from breaking its four-game losing streak, but ended up falling in heartbreaking fashion to Wilmington, 7-6 in nine innings. Eric Popp's two-run triple tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning and Ben Harrow retied the score in the seventh with a two-out base hit. After the Wildcats posted a three-run ninth, the Hornets responded with a pair of unearned runs but couldn't push the equalizer across.
