Read More »North Reading was just one more key hit away from breaking its four-game losing streak, but ended up falling in heartbreaking fashion to Wilmington, 7-6 in nine innings. Eric Popp's two-run triple tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning and Ben Harrow retied the score in the seventh with a two-out base hit. After the Wildcats posted a three-run ninth, the Hornets responded with a pair of unearned runs but couldn't push the equalizer across.
