Sophomore Pam Coufos turned in the game of her short career, holding Holy Cross-bound scoring machine Kim Corkum to just one goal while scoring five times herself as North Andover dealt Ipswich its first loss of the year, 10-9. "Pam had a breakthrough game," said Knights head coach Karen Lahey. "She Strout-ed Corkum," referring to the face-guarding sisters Annie and Emily Strout played on Corkum's older sister several years ago that shut down the future Division 1 college standout.

Kitchen deals with the heat

Goalie Bridget Kitchen has been working hard on her passing game and it paid off on a rainy day in Danvers, helping North Andover prevail, 15-5. "Bridget ignited our transition game with her clears," head coach Karen Leahy said. "She's working on it a lot and (yesterday) was her best game. Half of our goals were off fast breaks." Erika Zahoruiko and Caitlin Enright aided the Knights' speed game with strong passing and Shelby Boudreau stood out with five points and savvy pass interceptions.

With Erika Zahoruiko and Caitlin Enright playing inspired defensive games,North Andover blitzed Masconomet, 11-3. North Andover also got some fine play in the midfield from Michelle Martin and sisters Olivia and Shelby Boudreau. Audrey Samuelman and Pam Coufos had three goals each.
