Owls stunner

No. 13 Timberlane stunned No. 4 Bishop Guertin 11-5 in opening-round action. Dan Armstrong, who went 3 for 3, scored twice and drove in four runs, cracked a big two-run triple in the sixth. Brendan Heinze drove in three runs. It was an eventual day for winning pitcher Jake Siemering, who walked eight, hit a batter and gave up eight hits. But when it mattered most, he buckled down and got the job done.

Owls rebound

 

Timberlane's baseball team rebounded from a disappointing loss the day befor with a solid 11-5 victory over Spaulding. Ryan McCarthy (3 for 4, 2 RBIs) and Dan Armstrong (2 for 5, 3 RBIs) led the Owls' 12-hit attack.

Owls erupt

Timberlane erupted for 12 hits in a 9-3 victory over Alvirne. Justin Bundzinski had three hits including two doubles and three RBIs, Max Grant added a pair of doubles and an RBI, and Jake Siemering had a big two-run single in seventh inning.

Trinity 2, Timberlane 1

Jake Siemering tossed another strong game, allowing his first two earned runs over 19 innings of work, but those were enough to get Trinity past Timberlane, 2-1. After averaging three errors a game, the Owls played clean defense behind Siemering but a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning made the difference for Trinity.

Pitching carries Owls

Freshman hurler Jake Damphousse picked up his first varsity win as Timberlane beat Manchester West 5-3.

Damphousse, who doubles as an infielder, tossed four innings allowing just one earned run and striking out a batter. Senior Dan Armstrong took over for the final three innings, earning the save tossing scoreless ball while scattering three hits.

Timberlane's two experienced varsity performers were the ones that produced in a 14-9 setback to Nashua North. Sophomore Ryan McCarthy had a two-run double and a two-run homer while senior Dan Armstrong excelled in two innings of shut-down relief with three strikeouts.

Unsung Siemering takes charge in Owls opener

 

DERRY, N.H. — Young teams will strikeout too much, kick or fling the baseball around some, and yeah, they will make a mistake or two on the basepaths.

Yesterday on opening day, senior Jake Siemering simply wiped all those Timberlane transgressions way, slaying host Pinkerton Academy in a five-hit, 1-0 shutout masterpiece.
