.Pelham (5-0): A stunning 48-0 victory over two-time defending champion Bishop Brady proved the Pythons are for real. Last week: 9

.Swampscott (4-0): Quarterback Peter Kinchley has stepped up big the last two weeks; he'll need plenty of help if they're to knock off Gloucester this Saturday at home. Last week: 7

.St. John's Prep (2-2): Second straight loss shouldn't take away from the fact that the Eagles improved in virtually all facets last week vs. Brockton. Last week: 3

.Londonderry (3-2): Lancers came within an eyelash of snapping Pinkerton's winning streak, which now stands at 19 games. Last week: 5

.Pentucket (3-1): Three straight victories for the Sachems, including a last-second triumph over Newburyport last weekend, has this team on a roll. Last week: unranked

.Hamilton-Wenham (2-1): Moral victories may not mean much, but the Generals can stand tall after last week's shootout with unbeaten Masconomet. Last week: 11

.Greater Lawrence (4-0): With or without banged-up franchise back Nate Adames, the Reggies should manhandle Northeast Regional this weekend. Last week: 12

.Andover (2-2): Golden Warriors hope last week's 34-27 loss to unbeaten Billerica and Timmy Morrison (5 TD passes) won't end their MVC title hopes. Last week: 6

.Bishop Fenwick (2-2): What's going on in Crusaderville? Time to tighten up on defense; they've allowed 77 points the last two weekends. Last week: 10

Honorable mention: Phillips Academy (2-0), Georgetown (2-1), Central Catholic (2-2), Manchester Essex (3-1), Salem, N.H. (3-2)

Dropped out of last week's poll: Salem, Mass. (No. 8 last week)
