Nick Enxing, Andover: The junior linebacker picked off a pair of Lowell passes in the first half, returning one for a 35-yard touchdown. He added eight tackles for the Golden Warriors, who lost to the Red Raiders, 27-20.

2008 Power Players, Week 8

John Hennessy, Andover: The junior delivered his best all-around game as a starter in Andover’s 40-27 win over Haverhill. The QB rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns and was 8 of 11 passing for 140 yards and two more scores. The five combined touchdowns were a career-high, besting the four against Billerica.

2008 Power Players, Week 7

Ned Deane, Andover: There wasn’t much to smile about for the Golden Warriors in a 55-25 loss to Dracut, but Deane was a bright spot. When the Middies kick returner let the ball roll away from him, Deane alertly chased it down and dove on it for a touchdown. He also made a sack that forced a turnover on downs when Andover trailed by only two scores.

2008 Power Players, Week 6

Tucker Devine, Andover: With the Golden Warriors in need of a momentum boost after being shut out in the first half, Devine delivered. On the first play of the third quarter, he broke away for a 46-yard run that sent Andover on its way to a 12-7 win over Tewksbury. The senior running back ended up with 142 yards in the second half alone, and a career-best 157 yards for the game on 17 rushes.

2008 Power Players, Week 5

Chris McConnell, Andover: Everyone knew he’s a star on the track, but is he a football player? McConnell answered those questions with an outstanding performance in the Golden Warriors’ near-upset of undefeated Billerica. He hauled in three touchdowns from John Hennessy and tallied career-highs in catches (7) and receiving yards (101). McConnell used his speed and agility, outmaneuvering or simply running past defenders.

Andrew Lebowitz, Andover: The senior defensive lineman spent the entire game in the opposing backfield in the Golden Warriors' season-opening 22-0 win over North Andover. The 5-foot-11, 275-pounder made a team-high six tackles and two of Andover's six sacks. His defense allowed just 24 yards of total offense.
