Derek Feole's 145-9 discus throw, the best in the area this season by over seven feet, highlighted Methuen's strength in the field events in an 87-58 loss to Tewksbury. Dan Cormier had a 50-2 shot put, second-best only to himself with his prior 51-0 effort. Tyler Bolduc's 160-10 javelin toss ranks him fourth in the region.

C.J. Lataille continued his upward progress on the track, running a personal-best 11.4-second 100 to qualify for states and anchoring the victorious 4x100 relay as Pentucket defeated Lynnfield, 95-50.

 Roberto Guzman, Tyriq Ortiz, Rolondo Jiminez and Hansel Santo combined to win the 4x400 and give Greater Lawrence an exciting come-from-behind 69-67 win over Northeast. Triple winner Hector Payano (long jump, 100, 200) scored 15 big points to help the Reggies to their first win of the year.

Needing to win the 4x400 relay to clinch the meet, the team of Zach Zuber, Colby Hadley, Garrett Hammond and Josh Goehring cruised to victory in 3:42.8 as Haverhill bested Chelmsford 72-63.

With its perfect record on the line, North Andover boys track looked to one of its captains.

Jim Quinlan won the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.5 and just 10 minutes later anchored the 4x400 relay team that clinched the meet over a tough Wilmington squad, 77-67.

Matt Fowler's 168-9 1/2 throw in the javelin not only helped Sanborn place second in a six-team home meet but also is third best distance recorded in the area this season, winning the event by over 40 feet. Freshman Jon Brown placed second in the 800 and tied for third in the 1,600 to help the Indians.

Solid depth and a pair of wins from Brandon Hannon (400 and part of a three-way tie in the high jump) helped Pelham place second to Souhegan in a quad-meet. Derek Gray (who also won the 200), CJay DiPrima and Brandon Dreyfuss swept the top three spots in the 100 meter dash for third-place Windham.

Paul Buccos remained unbeaten in both the long jump and triple jump with his dual victories for Whittier in a 95-40 loss to Chelsea. Buccos was also part of the Wildcats' other win in the 4x100 relay.

 Harvard-bound Malcolm Mason-Rodriguez put on a show at NHM. The Phillips great set school records in the triple jump (48-3 to break his own area record) and 100 meters (10.7) and won the long jump (23-0 1/2).

Pat Farnham won the 200 in a blazing 21.8, took the 400 in 49.5 and added a victory in the long jump (21-7) as Andover bested Haverhill 87-44.

Whittier's Paul Buccos won the long jump (20-0), triple jump (40-8) and 100 meters (11:38) and led the winning 4X100 relay as Whittier beat Northeast Metro 82-53.

Tyler Yeastedt won the javelin with a big 171-0 throw and Fortune Kalala shined with wins in the triple jump and high hurdles as Central Catholic rolled over Dracut 130-15.

Behind personal-best victories James Winslow (44-3, shot put) Nick Kingswood (60.7, 400 hurdles), North Andover improved to 6-0 with wins over Pentucket and North Reading.

In his first time running the 200, Lawrence's Kelvin Severino blazed the distance in 22.2 seconds — the fastest time in the area this spring — to win the event in a meet against Tewksbury. Severino also won the 100 with a time of 10.8, second-fastest behind Andover's Patrick Farnham this season.

Paul Buccos was a double winner (100 and triple jump) as Whittier dominated the field events, but Greater Lowell's depth and success in the running events translated into an 87-49 victory.
