Hitting the ice for the first time as a varsity entity, and with only one senior on the roster, Windham-Pelham took on Pembroke-Campbell and easily prevailed, 7-0, last night at the Icenter.

Alec Paradis scored three goals as Pelham went on to win its soccer game by a score of 4-2 over Pembroke. Paradis now holds a school record for most goals in a season with 17, a record that has stood since 1992.

Courtney Parese scored in the first half and Pelham's defense stiffened in the second half, earning the Pythons their first win of the season, 1-0 over Pembroke. Parese scored 12 1/2 minutes into play when she battled a crowd for the rebound of Madison Giordino's penalty corner shot and found the back of the net. From there, excellent defensive efforts from Becca DeBaldo, Kim Polcari and Shana Schaffer both shut down Pembroke's attack and allowed Pelham's forwards to play more aggressively.

Sanborn's Lexie Basiliere and Windham's Kate Farrell went head to head down the stretch, finishing in a rare, cross-country dead heat for the win in a quad-meet captured by Pembroke yesterday. The area pair covered the 3.1 miles in 21:29.

Alex Whitehead volleyed home the second-half equalizer but the Windham boys suffered second-half heartbreak, tumbling on a last-second Pembroke goal, 2-1.

Christine Robichaud placed second in the giant slalom and was eighth in the slalom as Timberlane placed first in a nine-team meet. Sarah Redman added a fifth in the giant slalom and a seventh in the slalom for the Owls.
