Isabel Hulse scored Masco's first goal on a power play with about five minutes to play and Molly Elmore made 25 saves.

While Kelsie McGonagle was throttling the Peabody offense, Taylor Cassidy provided her classmate all the support she would need with a pair of run-scoring singles as the Rangers advanced to the Division 1 North semifinals with a 4-1 victory Tuesday night over the fifth-seeded Tanners.

Lawrence's Jairo Vasquez threw a complete-game four-hitter, but the No. 10 Lancers lost to No. 7 Peabody 3-1 in the Division 1 North first round. 

Cedric Gillette pitched a complete-game three-hitter, striking out six to earn tourney MVP honors as Andover beat Peabody 4-0 to win the Peabody Tournament. Michael Reilly was 3 for 4 with an RBI for the Warriors.

Newburyport girls basketball had little trouble with Peabody on Monday night, leading from start to finish to win 56-36. Anna Hickman had 17 points with two 3-pointers and Krysta Padellaro scored 13 points.

Methuen tuned up for a Wednesday showdown at Central Catholic by sweeping a quad-meet to remain unbeaten at 22-0, its toughest meet being a 45-30 win over a strong Westford club. Travis Manick stayed unbeaten with a pair of wins at 195 while Evan Stoddard (113), Chris Ramos (132) and Justin Sheehan (138) were all 3-0 on the day.

Triton's Robi Ullah got his revenge against Peabody's Jack Murphy on Thursday, beating the fellow 106-pounder 17-12 after losing to him 13-12 in the CAL/NEC Open. The Vikings also got a big 8-6 win from Sam Orender at 182 pounds, and Steve Particelli fought back from a 5-0 deficit to win his 195-pound match 7-5 in overtime. The end result was another big win for Triton wrestling, who beat Peabody 48-12.

The Chieftains stayed sharp on Wednesday night, collecting three tallies en route to their ninth win of the season. Senior Sami Kelleher netted two goals while Lexi Rosenbaum added another. Newburyport native Molly Elmore continued her stellar season with 15 saves in net.

Troy Forgitano and Zach Beauvais each picked up pins as Georgetown-Ipswich wrestling beat Peabody 34-22 on Wednesday. John Blythe also won a 12-2 major decision and Jei Yeaton, Connor Young and Matt Mansfield all won by forfeit.

Georgetown freshman Erin Irons scored her first career goal as the Masconomet girls hockey co-op cruised to a 6-2 win over Peabody on Wednesday. Older sister Kate Irons also scored, as did Newburyport's Sami Kelleher, and Port's Molly Elmore made 15 saves.
