With 18.9 seconds left in regulation, Lydia Pendleton took a feed off a shot from Brenna Greene and found the back of the net to lift Methuen-Tewksbury to a thrilling 1-1 ties against Waltham. The Red Rangers fired 46 shots before finally breaking through.

James Doucette scored twice and added an assist to lead the Central Catholic boys hockey team to a 3-0 win over Waltham. After scoring one goal all of last year, the senior forward has taken his game to another level.

Juniors Luke Vaccaro and Anthony Teberio both scored their first varsity goals to lead Andover boys soccer to a 5-0 win over Waltham. Jake Brezner pitched the shutout with 24 saves.

Emmett Kim was the star with 21 points with a pair of 3-pointer as No. 12 Andover beat No. 5 Waltham, 47-39, in the first round of the Division 1 North tournament. The Warriors will either play Boston Latin or Haverhill in the quarterfinals.

HAVERHILL - The wait was long, but boy was it worth it for the Haverhill girls basketball team.

The Hillies hadn't even been in the North tourney in seven years. The last time they'd actually went on a run and won a playoff game, many of the girls on the current roster were still learning how to walk.

Trailing by two goals with less than five minutes left, Andover boys hockey got tallies from Sam Murray and Leo Byers to earn a dramatic 2-2 tie against Waltham.
