Owls with huge win



Timberlane's boys outscored Dover 22-3 in a near flawless third quarter and went on to defeat a strong Dover club, 62-52. Kyle Ventola had a career-high 22 points to lead the way while junior Bob Olson was everywhere with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Sophomore point guard Sean Chanakira had two big 3-pointers and 12 points.

Astros can't complete valiant comeback

The Pinkerton volleyball team fell to an early 2-0 deficit to Dover, but rallied back to win the next two sets, both by a score of 25-17. But No. 6 Dover used a late 4-point rally in the decisive fifth set to win, 15-12, for the 3-2 match victory. The third-seeded Astros, which end their fine season 17-3, were led by 26 digs, 11 kills, 19 service points and 5 aces from Ella Dandrade.

Jaguars in semis


Windham's field hockey team had an impressive 3-0 win over Dover to advance to the Division 1 semifinals next Tuesday against Bishop Guertin, which upset Winnacunnet. Ryane Farrell, Livi Manchester and Cam Livingstone scored for the Jaguars (14-1).

Senior quad-captain John Gouthro scored his first goal of the season to help the Salem boys soccer team to a 5-2 win over Dover. Walaedine Hounane found the back of the net three times for the Blue Devils (5-8-2), and now has 11 goals for the season.

Owls get some heroics

Things looked dire for the Timberlane girls soccer team, trailing 2-1 with just under five minutes to play. But the Owls got some heroics, first when Monica Bajgrowicz skated around the goalie and scored to tie the game. Then, a minute later, Alida Bates got free and hammered a 25-yard shot with her left foot that found the opposite corner of the net to give the Owls a dramatic 3-2 win over Dover.
