 After being tied up in regulation, Pinkerton's girls soccer team advanced to the semifinals in the Division 1 Tournament Sunday when Chayse Dube sired a shot in overtie in the upper corner of the net to give the Astros a 2-1 overtime win over Dover. Kayla Silveira scored Pinkerton's first goal on an assist by Emily Hood.The Astros will play in the semifinals Wednesday.

DURHAM — When the chips were down, the Windham field hockey team delivered — again.

Sarah Dempsey erupted for 26 points, going 14 for 15 from the free throw line, and added 12 rebounds as Windham rallied past Dover 59-53 in overtime. Abby Husson added 14 points and Caroline Collins had a big all-around game for the Jaguars.

Brianna Marino pitched six innings of four-hit ball and drove in a run as Salem edged Dover 3-2. Victoria Andrade hit a two-run homer in the third to give Salem the lead.

SALEM — It may have been just the first victory in what Windham hopes is a deep playoff run towards a second straight state title. But the reigning Division 2 champions certainly sent a loud and clear message to the rest of the state.

No. 5 Londonderry saw No. 12 Dover knock down a 3-pointer with nine seconds left to upset the Lancers 47-46 in the Division 1 first round. Delaney McGurn and Kelsey Coffey each led Londonderry with 11 points.

On Senior Night, senior Bryce Blanchard scored with 19 seconds left in regulation and the winner from three-quarters length of the ice in OT as Windham upset Dover. The visitors had pulled their goalie in OT trying to get the win.

With Salem reeling and trailing Dover, 3-1, Rachel Towler hit the mound in the third and took charge, shutting down the Green Wave the rest of the way, striking out seven and giving her teammates a shot to rally. And rally the Blue Devils did, coming back to win, 5-3, to stay perfect at 8-0. Brittany Wallace's two-run single highlighted Salem's three-run third.

Kelsi McNamara had eight points and dished out seven assists as Pentucket beat Dover (N.H.) 53-35

Val Martin scored 13 of her team-best 20 points in the third quarter, turning a six-point Pinkerton lead into an eventual runaway 62-44 victory over Dover.
