Carroll, unbeaten Pythons drub Inter-Lakes

MEREDITH, N.H. — It was 50-0 with 5:56 to play in the second quarter and that's the way it ended as Pelham waltzed past Inter-Lakes. Alex Carroll and Ethan Demmons both scored two touchdowns for the 5-0 Pythons. Jake Travis ran and passed for a score against the overmatched hosts (1-4). Pelham hosts Trinity of Manchester Friday at 7 p.m. Trinity is 4-0 heading into Saturday night's game against Monadnock.

Pelham moves on

Pelham boys lacrosse lived up to the billing as the No. 1 seed in the NHIAA Division 3 state tournament, crushing Interlakes, 18-1, and moving on to the semifinals. The Pythons will play at Laconia on Wednesday (7:15 p.m.).

Pelham takes tourney opener

Tied after singles action, Pelham's Amira Eid and Salihah Bogner won first doubles and Allyson Muller and Rachel Day took second doubles to clinch the No. 7 Pythons' 5-4 win over No. 3 Interlakes in the Division 3 quarterfinals. Pelham will now travel to No. 2 Conant on Friday at 4 p.m.

Kirata bedevils the field

Shireen Kirata won every event to lead Salem to victory over Londonderry, Spaulding and Keene in gymnastics. Leah Jackson paced the second-place Lancers with two second places and one third. Taylor Buatti (floor) and Sam Cloutier also excelled for the Blue Devils as did Londonderry's Alli Yennaco and Cari O'Shea.
