Led by Derek Crowley and Drew Brown, with 20 points each, Pelham's boys built a 25-point lead and coasted past Merrimack Valley, 76-63. There were 10 scorers for the Pythons (14-3).

Tyler Lovely had a career high 24 points with 12 rebounds and Dylan Khalil added 16 points to power Sanborn past, 57-47.

Teammates Quinn Cerami and Landon Neal had quite the head-to-head battle in both the 55-meter dash and the 300 at Saturday's Plymouth State meet, ultimately helping lead Windham to a second-place finish as a team. In the 55, Cerami edged out Neal by .007 seconds to take first, but in the 300 Neal took first and edged out Cerami by .04 seconds.

The Windham girls track and field team had two winners at a meet at Plymouth State. Abby Hughes won the 600 (1:49.92) and Reagan Murray won the 300 (45.68), as the Jaguars took sixth out of 10 scoring teams.

McKenna Williams made sure the Pelham girls basketball team started its season off on the right foot. The senior dropped 20 points with four 3-pointers to lead the Pythons to a season-opening 56-51 win over Merrimack Valley.

 Junior Abbey Bevens scored the 50th goal of her career and Sydney Nutter got the game-winner with three minutes left as the Pelham field hockey team edged Merrimack Valley 2-1 in the Division 2 first round of the state tournament. The Pythons will be at Souhegan at noon Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Down four heading into the final quarter, the Windham girls basketball team scored 22 points in the final frame to pull out a victory over Merrimack Valley. Kaleigh Walsh led the way with 17 points and Emily Orciani chipped in 14 for the undefeated Jaguars (3-0).

In his first varsity start, sophomore Ryan Pascarella made three saves for the shutout as Windham beat Merrimack Valley 5-0. Kyle Cocciardi scored twice for the winners.

Freshman Colin Grenier went 2-for-2 with a sac bunt in his first varsity game to help Sanborn beat Merrimack Valley 2-1. Liam Dolan got the win on the mound, and also drove in a run.

Windham's field hockey team (8-3-1) had goals from four different players — Serena Sauerwald, Gabi Aleksa, Hannah Pesci and Maria Popovici-Mueller — in a 4-0 victory over Merrimack Valley.
