Knights take second

The North Andover boys cross country team finished as runner-up to St John’s Prep at the Clipper Relays with a time of 30:49. The three-man team consisted of senior Luke Stad, junior Luke McGillivray and senior Ryan Connolly.
 
The Scarlet Knights girls finished sixth in 39.05. The squad was Maddie Wolfe, Hannah Shea and Luna Prochazkova.

Haverhill's Jack Kelleher was 4 for 5 with four RBIs and three runs scored as the Hillies pushed state power St. John's Prep to the limit before falling 9-8. Joseph Ayala added two RBIs for the Brown and Gold.

Caraballo sets Ranger record

Methuen's Miana Caraballo broke Methuen High's 35-year-old record in the mile, running a 5:07.54 on Saturday at an event at Boston University. She broke the mark previously owned by Chris Dizoglio (5:09). 
 
On the boys side, Methuen's Freddy Coleman ran 4:28.26 mile, his second fastest indoor time. Coleman has been working his way back from a lower leg/hip injury.

Beshara wins five

Noah Beshara went 5-0 at 145 pounds, leading Methuen to a sweep of a six-team meet. Vinnie DeMaio (138 pounds), Shane Easton (152 pounds), Joe Bolduc (160/170 pounds) and Elias Concepcion (220 pounds) each added 4-0 days for the Rangers.

Bennett dazzles

In an 11-team ski meet, the Pinkerton girls took second to Bedford. Ava Sezgin placed fifth overall, Emma Tancrede seventh and Madeline Frank 11th. The boys took third behind junior captain Chris Bennett, who took top individual honors among the 11 teams. Jameson Colby was 15th and Zachary Hall 18th.
