Senior star Elayna Grillakis scored twice to help defending Division 1 state champion Central Catholic earn a 4-2 win over Ludlow in its season-opener. Ashley Raphael and Caitlin Regan also scored for the Raiders.

Amanda Fay made three huge saves and Central Catholic's girls soccer team got goals from Elayna Grillakis and Caitlin Regan to topple Ludlow 2-0. 

John Hamilton, Ethan Landry and Tyler Poole each scored twice and Pinkerton beat Ludlow 9-5 in the first round of the Salem Tuscan Kitchen Tourney.

Timberlane's young wrestling team matured quickly during the season and | paced by heavyweight champion Brian Nicoll and 103-pound runner-up Cam Sullivan, both juniors | it grew up completely yesterday at the New England Tournament.
