Haverhill had a rough day at the West Springfield duals, only winning one meet, but it was a good day for Steven Wise (152) and heavyweight Jay Levy, both of whom had four pins. Levy showed no ill effects of a week of sickness.

Hillies take first

 

Haverhill took top honors in the Hillie Duals, winning four straight meets before taking the championship when Brookline oddly forfeited in the finals. Jake Nicolosi (138), Sam Prescott (152), Isaiah Delossantos (160) and heavyweight jay Levy were all 5-0 on the day.

Knights go 2-2

 

North Andover went 2-2 in the rugged Springfield Duals despite missing a couple of wrestlers. Ethan Ford (113) remained unbeaten and continued to look impressive and Joey Valentino (126), Eli Tuttle (145) and CJ Cincotta (152) were all also 4-0. Tuttle looked terrific in a tough weight class and Ford and Jamil Nickerson, in a 39-37 win over West Springfield, had pins to close the match and seal the win.

Hillies finish second

 

haverhill sophomore Sam Prescott seemed eager to return to the mat Saturday. Out briefly with bruised ribs, Prescott came back strong at the Hillie duals, pinning five straight opponents at 145 as the Hillies finished second in the dual-meet tournament.

Knights drop first meet

 

North Andover won two of three meets in the tough Springfield duals, getting an exciting 37-34 win over Franklin but losing decisively to powerful Springfield Central.

Fritz Hoehn was 3-0 on the day to remain undefeated while Stephen Cincotta was 2-0 and Costa Vergados had a key win against Franklin for the Knights, now 11-1 on the year.

Lancers drop 3 of 4

 

Lawrence had a rough day in Springfield, losing three of four in a quad-meet, including 60-9 to Vermont power Mount Anthony.  Manny Arias was a bright spot for the Lancers, going 4-0 on the day.
