The Phillips Academy baseball team remained unbeaten (12-0), sweeping Winchendon 5-0 and 7-1. In the opener, North Andover's Matt Sapienza threw a 4-hitter, striking out 10.

Kaitlin Hoang scored a hat trick to send Phillips to a season-opening 5-0 victory over Winchendon.

Sydney Richard buried six 3-pointers and scored 24 points and Mikaela Richard added 21 points as Bradford Christian romped past Gunnery 73-38 in the NEPSAC Class D quarterfinals.

Maddie Walsh scored a goal with about 4 minutes remaining to lift Phillips girls hockey 1-0 over Winchendon.

It was assisted by Eva Toffoloni and Lexi Davidson. 

Phillips' goalie duo of Corinne Rivard and Sara Merker held their own but Winchendon had too much talent in a 4-0 girls hockey victory. Rivard (37 saves over two periods) and Merker (16 third-period stops) were exemplary in the Big Blue net.

Sarah Schuchardt stopped 23 shots but it wasn't enough as Phillips girls hockey lost 3-0 to Winchendon.

Winchendon beat Phillips 2-1 in a tight game that remained scoreless heading into the third.

Winchendon went ahead 2-0 in the third. A goal in the final minute by Ann Doherty was not enough. 

Mariana Walsh has been a wrecking ball this season, compiling a pair of hat tricks in Phillips Academy's first three games. Yesterday, Walsh (three goals, two assists) led the Big Blue to a 6-1 victory over Winchendon to help the team improve to 2-0-1. Alissa Fromkin racked up 22 saves and even assisted on Kaitlyn McInnis' third period goal. Phillips finished with an astounding 44 shots on net.
