Bloom, Owls give Kennett the boot

NORTH CONWAY —  Surprising Timberlane roughed up Kennett, 41-0, Friday night to improve to 2-0.. Junior Harrison Bloom booted 38- and 34-yard field goals and was perfect on PATs. Timberlanej owned the line of scrimmage with Dom Pallaria (14-141, 1 TD), Dan Post (4-72, 1 TD( and Eddie DiGiulio (10-69) leading the attack. QB Dom Coppeta contributed two TD runs while attempting just three passes on the night. Coach Kevin Fitzgerald hailed the play of linebackers Cooper Kelley and Joe Shivell and tackler Evan Roeger in the shutout. Fitzgerald said, "For the second week in a row, we were able to outphysical the other team." That's to the tune of an 84-0 victory margin in the two games. Kennett dropped its second straight lopsided game. They hope to do it for the third week in a row when the Owls play their home opener Friday at 6:30 p.m. vs. Merrimack Valley (1-1).

Indians pull upset

Madison Houghton scored a team-high 10 points, and Sanborn held on late to earn a 33-32 upset win over Kennett in the first round of the NH Division 2 tournament. The No. 11 Indians will now travel to No. 3 Spaulding on Friday night (7 p.m.), where they lost by 16 earlier in the season.

Saved by doubles

The No. 4 seed Windham boys tennis team got wins at all three doubles to beat No. 5 Kennett, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the NH Division 2 tournament. Parker Andreoli and Henry Monterio won at first doubles in a tiebreaker (9-8, 7-4), Adrian Niceforo and Austin Wu won at second in another tiebreaker (9-8, 7-5) and, after both picking up singles wins, Dan Wang and Luke Darcy won at third doubles (8-5).

Buzzer heartbreak

 

Timberlane's boys basketball teamplayed one of its best games of the year only to fall in overtime at the buzzer, 60-59 at Kennett. Sophomore Bob Olson was exceptional in defeat with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Pinkerton bowling takes first

Pinkerton's bowling team won first in a meet against Raymond, Dover, Souhegan and Spaulding at Strikers East in Raymond. The Astros took the No. 1 seed in the qualifying round with a two-game standard ten pin total of 1783. Captain Jason Barton rolled games of 195 and 149, Matt Gagnon rolled a 158 and 122, Bryant Nourse bowled a fine 208 and a 164, Lance Lemieux had a 172 and a nice 224 and Harry Michaud bowled a 186 and 205.
