So far through two playoff games, the Triton field hockey team is still looking like the team that breezed through the regular season to earn the No. 4 seed in the Division 3 state tournament.

Wednesday evening, the Vikings got goals from Emelia Hight, Maya Sullivan and Maddie Hillick to beat No. 13 Hanover 3-1 in their Round of 16 game. Sophia Chapman stopped two shots in goal for the Vikings (14-3-3), who will host No. 5 Swampscott in the quarterfinals Saturday at 10 a.m. 

NASHUA — Windham placed third and Sanborn fifth at the 45th annual boys Meet of Champions race Saturday at Mines Falls Park in Nashua (3.11 miles). 

Lauren Adams scored her second goal of the game with two minutes left to lift Andover over Hanover 3-2. Kate Gemmel also scored for the Warriors, who are now 3-1-3.

Andover girls hockey rolled to a 5-1 win over Hanover of New Hampshire behind five different goal-scorers. It was a nice primer for the Warriors (12-0-1), who have a rematch showdown at Methuen-Tewksbury (11-1-1) on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

After a lackluster first half (trailing 17-15), No. 6 Pelham owned the third quarter (24-10) and dumped No. 11 Hanover 57-46. Drew Brown (team-high 15 points) hit all three of his threes in the third.

Coach Mike Larson said, ""I'll take credit with the halftime speech! In the first half, we missed 100 layups. We just started making shots." 

Kyle Frank added 11 points and Joe Pantaleo pumped in 12. 

The Pythons play at No. 3 Coe-Brown Saturday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals. 

Jared Potter made 13 saves, but No. 7 seed North Reading lost 10-9 to 10th seeded Hanover in the second round of the Division 3 boys lacrosse tournament.

Hanover tied it with 4:23 left and then took a 10-9 lead about 2 minutes later. 

Cody Carbone fired a perfect pass to Eric Valenti, who scored on a bounce shot with 34 seconds left in the game to give No. 4 North Reading a 12-11 victory over No. 13 Hanover in the Division 3 East first round.

His gut instinct turned into reality last night at the Verizon Wireless Arena, after his Astros downed Hanover 3-0 in the Division 1 championship game.

Mark Baroni tallied a pair of goals in Salem's 7-2 loss to Hanover. The Blue Devils hung with their opponents through two periods, trailing just 2-1 at the end of the second, but Hanover erupted for five third-period goals to seal the win.
