Gallo the hero

Anthony Gallo scored the game's final two goals, the second coming with 30 seconds left in regulation as Windham topped previously unbeaten Derryfield 12-11. Gallo finished with five goals, Matt Shea added three goals and Chris Martel stopped 11 shots. Derryfield had won the other eight times the teams had played and by a lopsided 137-31 margin.

Haverhill's girls won their second straight game, 46-40 over Derryfield in the Epping Tournament, and two freshmen played key roles. Madison Thompson led the Hillies with 10 points and Jenna Solimine added seven. Solimine also had two 3-pointers for the Hillies, who face Sunapee today.
