Narragansett too strong for Whittier

HAVERHILL — When Narragansett Regional decided to muscle up, there was little Whittier could do. Despite never really getting its offense in gear, the Wildcats managed to convert a turnover into 2-yard Bryan Trickett touchdown run and an 8-0 first quarter lead in their home opener. And the Warriors played into Whittier's strength during the opening half, trying to attack the edges only to find quick defensive ends and backs shutting them down to the tune of a mere seven yards on 16 attempts. Only one well-timed second-quarter fly pattern executed by tight end Alex Travisano and turned into a 76-yard, game-tying touchdown pass spoiled the fun for the 'Cats, and even that was answered a minute after the break on Don Leighton's impressive midfield interception.

Whittier falls at Narragansett

BALDWINVILLE | Knotted at 16-16 in the second quarter, Whittier Tech saw Narragansett Regional High run off 32 points and dominate in a 48-16 win.

It was a tough night overall for the Whittier community as volunteer assistant coach Fred Bradley, the father of head coach Kevin Bradley, was rushed to Gardner Hospital minutes before the game.
