The Haverhill/North Andover girls hockey team stayed unbeaten (4-0) with an 8-1 romp over Wayland. Eight different players scored, led by Katherine Capobianco, who added three assists.

Central Catholic girls hockey goalie Julie Thing had a sensational performance, making 48 saves to help lead the Raiders to a 3-2 win over Wayland. Colleen McAnespie, Sarah Biddle and Casey Jackson each scored in the win.

Trailing 2-0 after a scoreless first half, the Pentucket boys soccer team applied the pressure late but couldn't overcome Wayland in the Division 3 North quarterfinals, falling 2-1. Jake Dickson scored for the Sachems (10-7-3) and Scott Eichel had 11 saves. 

No. 3 Lawrence, which had state title aspirations, was stunned by No. 11 Wayland (25-21, 25-19, 25-21) in the North volleyball quarterfinals.

Carolyn Modlish had a huge day for Pentucket in Sunday's 35-27 win over Wayland, scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds while holding Wayland's Yale-bound forward Bonwynn Davies, who is 6-foot-1 and scored 37 points on Friday, to one basket and seven points.

Amanda Downing, Camry Beaulieu and Jolie Chappie scored their first career goals and Methuen-Tewksbury pounded Wayland 11-0 to improve to 12-0-2.

Emily Frocione recorded a hat trick for Central Catholic to help beat winless Wayland 3-1 on Saturday. Lexi Stanisewski and Michela Ferris each had two assists for the Raiders.

Kelly Golini had a hat trick to pace the unbeaten Methuen-Tewksbury girls hockey team (9-0) to a 7-2 victory over Wayland. Eryn Taber added a goal and two assists for Methuen, which has a big game Thursday at Haverhill at 4 p.m.

Central Catholic had its best tournament in recent memory, crowning five champions rolling to the championship of the Wayland Tournamnt, defeating runner-up MVC rival Central Catholic by 40 points.
