Trailing by two with 5 minutes remaining Friday, twins Hannah and Sammie Azzari combined for four goals down the stretch to lift Whittier to a 12-10 victory over Malden. Hannah (eight) and Sammie scored all 12 goals for the Wildcats and Kate Velazquez had 11 saves. Liz Deacon controlled the game with her ball handling and tough defense.

Emily Graham and Kaylee Habib combined on a no-hitter, striking out 11, as Whittier rolled past Malden 12-0 in five innings. Jaclyn Bioren drove in three runs and scored three more for the winners.

Jerison Andujar did it all in Greater Lawrence's 5-2 win over Malden. He got the win 4.1 innings of 2-hit, no-run relief with five strikeouts. offensively, he was 3-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and two steals.

HAVERHILL – For the first time in almost a year, Whittier did not require motorized transportation to get to its football game. Instead, Saturday afternoon, the Wildcats strode out of their locker room then ran onto the school’s beautiful new turf field.

Arodi Rodriguez came up huge for the Lawrence boys soccer team, making six saves in the final five minutes to preserve a 3-2 win over Malden. Yuli Santos, Estuardo Ucelo and Santos Zelaya were the goal scorers for the Lancers.

Meggie Dellea certainly had a day to remember on Saturday. The junior forward scored five goals to lead Haverhill girls soccer to a 7-0 win over Malden.
