After completing what may prove to be its most difficult week in the regular season, Newburyport (10-1-1) clinched an EMass. Tournament berth. The Clippers encountered the first blemishes on their record last week in a three-game stretch that saw the locals lose to North Andover, beat North Reading and tie Mascomomet. Yesterday's nine goals were four more than Newburyport scored all of last week.

"We were firing on all cylinders," Clippers coach Rob Gonnam said. "The fact that it came (yesterday) makes last week all the more aggravating."

Micaela Hogan scored three goals in what Gonnam deemed "the best game she's ever played." Chelsea Hersey added two goals. Laura Muise tallied a goal and seven assists. Maggie Mahoney and Jillian Kinter added a goal and an assist each. Mary Ryan scored a goal. Taylor Bresnahan had an assist. Lindsay Tomacz allowed one goal in net. Lauren Bertone had several key saves in the second half.
