Odds and ends: Sam Wheeler, who has already committed to play basketball at the University of Maine, returns after missing her junior season with an injury. ... Tri-captain Sammi Jo Saltalamacchia is joined by freshman sister Elisa while their older sister Kelly is an assistant coach. Kelly was a tri-captain in 2000. ... Six of the seniors on the squad have started since they were freshmen. ... Although she is still in high school, Susanna Bicknell made the honor roll spring term at Northern Essex Community College. ... Julia Redman was the Eagle-Tribune's Skier of the Year last winter. ... In the spring of 2005, Amy Green's brother, Jeff Green, was involved in a frightening accident when he was struck in the temple by a line drive in pregame warmups. He suffered a fractured skull.

Coach Jeff Petry (4th year, 27-20-5): "This group has been together for a long time. We will start 10 seniors that were all on varsity as sophomores. They have been the core of the team for four years. (Sammi Jo) Saltalamacchia has led our team in scoring for the last three seasons, and she should do it again. Amy Green and Morgan (DeShaw) will help solidify the midfield and Sam Wheeler started every game her sophomore season. Courtney Lins is a very solid in goal."
