Odds and ends: The 17 wins last season were Andover's most since 1999. ... The Golden Warriors were upset by No. 8-seeded Newton North in the Division 1 North quarterfinals. ... Defender Amanda Fantini, the twin sister of goalie Camille Fantini, is out for the season after tearing her ACL in the Hoops for Hope summer basketball playoffs.

Coach Meghan Matson (4th year, 44-8-11): "We have a great nucleus of players returning from last year. Catherine (LoMedico) really has a knack for the goal. And she is super fast. Jess (Morrow) is a playmaker. And she makes the players around her better. Kacie McManus stepped it up at midseason last year and Melissa Pennington should bring us some young blood. Ilana Cohen has come in great shape and is running by people. Camille Fantini is very athletic. You can tell she plays other sports."
