BEDFORD | The Bedford FieldTurf hadn't cooled off from Salem's onslaught when Timberlane came out in the nightcap smoking hot right from the opening whistle.

By the time the game was six minutes old, the Owls held a 2-0 advantage against the tourney's Cinderella team, Concord. With 13:26 left in the opening half, Timberlane led 4-0 and the sixth-seeded Crimson Tide were finished, not getting their first shot on junior Brittany McFarland-Bateman until 47 minutes were played.

Kaitlyn Lavallee's first of two goals set the tone as she collected a seeing-eye pass from Chelsea Sickel through a crowd of bodies and one-timed it by sophomore goalie Jennifer Jarnot only 4<1/2> minutes into action. She also capped the team's scoring when Kaitlin Hill collected the rebound from Stephanie Glazier's shot and fed Lavallee at the goal mouth for an easy conversion.

"We usually start off strong," Lavallee said. "I try to be aggressive, stay on the ball and look for opportunities to score."

Hill scored earlier off a corner as did Glazier, when Julie Sickel settled the entry pass and allowed the senior to blast away from the top of the circle.

"We tried to put the emphasis on putting the pressure on and controlling play in the first half," Owls head coach Mim Ryan said. "Concord's a resilient team and can come back, so we wanted to control the tempo."
