While rolling to a 17-46 victory, Pinkerton ace Chris Pietrocarlo set a course record 15:24 on the 3.05-mile course and the Astros had a stunning 16 runners break 17 minutes. Moreover, four runners broke 16 minutes, inbcluding three Astros — only the second time three runners broke 16 minutes.
Kevin MacPherson was second in 15:52 and sophomore Tony Anzivino was third in 15:53, marking only the third sophomore to break 16 minutes (Londonderry's John Mortimer and Pinkerton's Matt Downin the others).
Londonderry's Justin Walker came in fourth in 15:58, but Pinkerton took the next five places, led by Sean Leighton in 16:07.
"This was just an unprecedented performance," said Pinkerton coach Mike Clark.
