"This game will not go down in Cooperstown history," said Central Catholic coach Marc Pelletier in reference to the Raiders' 12-11 win over Haverhill yesterday and it's easy to see why. "It was pretty ugly."
Central (15-4) prevailed desit making seven errors and giving up seven unearned runs, while Haverhill (11-7) also made seven errors and gave up a whopping 10 unearned runs.
There were plenty of long balls at least. For Central, Tim Wheeler had two homers and Brendan Walsh one homer and Marc Crowley bashed two doubles off the fence at Merrimack College while, for Haverhill, Trevor Behrendt was 4 for 4 with a home run.
