Central Catholic baseball coach Marc Pelletier didn't know what to expect out of his team.
The pain from the Wednesday death of their friend, Central softball player Rebecca Solomon, is still overwhelming.
But the Raiders played with Solomon in their hearts and posted an impressive 9-0 win over Central Mass. power Holy Name.
"This game was for Rebecca,'' said Pelletier. "The team's focus the last four days wasn't on baseball. We honored her in the dugout. I didn't know which team would show up, the way they've been drained. We see ourselves as big brothers to the softball team.''
Brendan Walsh dazzled the Naps (16-4), holding them to just a second-inning double while striking out 10 and walking four.
The big hits were a Darren Infante's two-run single in the fourth, Matt Pelletier's bases-clearing double in the fifth and Marc Crowley's two-run homer in the sixth.
