Knights clinch CAL title

North Andover's boys clinched the Cape Ann League large school division in rousing fashion with a 59-49 victory over Masconomet. Senior Nick Fay led the way for the Knights (12-0 in CAL, 14-3 overall) with 17 points and Matt Sifferlen added 12. Trailing 15-8 after the first quarter, North Andover took the lead for good with a monster 25-point second quarter.

"Masco came out firing and we were down 15-3," said North Andover head coach Mike McVeigh. "But from that moment on, they (North Andover) were composed. I give them credit for staying with the gme and their composure both offensively and defensively." 

The Knights shared the title last year with Wilmington, which had won or shared the crown for seven straight years, but it was no contest this year.

"There is nice team chemistry on this team\," said McVeigh.
