Lawrence rolls past Knights, to set up showdown with Central

LAWRENCE — Lawrence High got off to a slow start but once it got rolling, North Andover was in trouble.

The Lancers blew open a close game to post a 67-44 win in the opening game of the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney. The hosts will take on Central Catholic in a much-anticipated semifinal showdown Monday at 6 p.m.

Justin Nieves and Jorge Escoto tossed in 12 points apiece for Lawrence, which led by only seven at the half and 10 with 5:50 left in the ballgame.

North Andover's Matt Sifferlen led all scorers with 18 points but no other Scarlet Knight had more than five points.
