Rachel Mattison broke her own school record on the beam with a 9.5, placing second and helping Andover to a third place finish at yesterday's state gymnastics meet.
The Golden Warriors scored 142.675 points, which was just off the pace set by Barnstable (144.75) and Masconomet (143.65).
Jen Quirnbach broke her own school record by scoring a 9.425 vault and placed fifth in the event. Mattison finished third in the all-around with a 36.70.
" I am so proud of this team," said Andover head coach Kristen Vadala. " They all did new skills today for the first time and they did a amazing and came together as a team. Our moto is that 'We win tigether, we lose together and we always give out best together' and tonight was perfect example of that."
