Team | Final |
---|---|
Andover | 90 |
Methuen | 96 |
Methuen-Tewksbury swimming stunned perennial state champion Andover 96-90. Carter DeLano won the 100 breaststroke in a tight race (0.40 second margin) and soon after M-T clinched it with a second and a third in the final relay. Other big Ranger wins were by Lex Flores in the diving and Cory Boisselle in the 100 freestyle. But it was the team depth which was the difference.
This very well may be the first time a Methuen team has beaten Andover swimming. Nineteenth year head coach Jason Smith said his teams had never beaten Andover. This was on the heels of a huge win over Chelmsford.
