KINGSTON, N.H. — Sanborn posted a shutout in the second half as the Indians pushed Hanover to the limit before falling 20-14 in their final home game of the season.
“Our kids play hard and it was a big performance in the second half,” said Sanborn coach Vincent Pettis. “They (Hanover) have a chance at the playoffs and we fought them until the end.”
Tyler Lawrence led Sanborn with a pair of sacks and eight tackles. Brandon Gonzalez added eight tackles, an interception and pressure on the quarterback.
Joe Murphy was once again a force for the Indians (1-7). He carried 22 times for over 200 yards and touchdowns of 64 and 46 yards.
“In a lot of games we wore down late,” said Pettis. “But today we only got stronger. We didn’t allow many yards in the second half.”
The Indians close out their season at Plymouth next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
