MANCHESTER, N.H. — Sanborn sophomore Dylan Khalil continued his late-season running surge Saturday by finishing as the top local placer at the New ENgland meet at Derryfield Park.
Khalil came in 37th under poor running conditions with an excellent time of 16:45.6 on the demanding 5K Derryfield Park course. Connecticut runner Trey Cormier was first in 15:56.6 with freshman Gavin Sherry of Conard, Conn., one second back.
Rhode Island power La Salle Academy won the team championship with 49 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Bishop Hendricken.
Pinkerton finished 16th led by junior Nolan Preble, who finished 88th in 17:16.6.
