LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Three yards and a cloud of dust this wasn’t.
Londonderry threw only one pass during the entire game — a 28-yard scoring strike from Conor McKinney to Kevin Hale — while pounding Manchester Memorial, 55-35 last night.
“This game was about the offensive line,” said Londonderry’s first year head coach Jon Rich. “We have three or four running backs that have had 100-yard games this season, and each one of those linemen deserve mention, specifically Hale, Sean Ryan, Matt Hamilton, Alex Deyeso, Tom Manley, Kevin Garrabrant and Jake Finnegan.”
Four minutes into the second quarter, the Lancers had already built a 35-0 lead.
Tailback Joey McLaughlin had all of his 93 rushing yards, plus three of his four touchdowns, in the first half. When he opened the second half with an 80-yard kickoff return for another score, Rich called off the hounds.
“We didn’t come out flat this week,” said return specialist Jason Silva, “and we spread the ball around.”
