In tightly contested and physical game that was played virtually entirely between the 18-yard boxes, Amesbury almost pulled out a crucial tie against North Reading after knotting the score at 1-1, three minutes into the second half. The result was not to be as the Indian defense broke down one time in the second half and the Hornets scored the game-winner.
Brianna Dandurant scored off a cross from Rebecca Crochiere for the Indians, and goalie Jessica Marx as well as center midfielders Nicole Richardson and Jackie Webber also played well for Amesbury.
