North Andover handed defending state champion Newburyport its second straight loss, winning 3-1. The Scarlet Knights jumped out quickly, scoring all three goals in the first 10 minutes of the first half.
DeeDee Fagan, Jenn Pino and Lauren Foley each scored for the Knights with Fagen assisting on Pino's goal.
"Newburyport's reputation says enough," said coach Bill Tarbox. "We got out to a lead with the three goals and knew they would keep comming."
